I'm a photographer based in Doncaster, currently studying UAL Level 3 Photography, and building BLGP as a home for my work.

BLGP is my initials: Brittany Laylah Grace Pinkney. I started photographing the things around me (the lake near home, old churches, friends from college) and slowly realised that what I care about most is the feeling of a picture.

Most of my projects begin with a concept rather than a pose. I'm happiest working with colour and shadow, building a small story across a set of images, and making portraits that feel like a still from a film.

Right now I'm growing my portfolio and I'm open to portrait sessions and creative collaborations around South Yorkshire. If you've got an idea, I'd love to hear it.

How I work

  1. 01

    Story over pose

Every shoot starts with an idea: a feeling, a place, a question. The pictures follow from that, not the other way round.

  2. 02

    Atmosphere first

I love deep tones, shadow and natural grain. I would rather a photo feel right than look perfect.

  3. 03

    Quiet and honest

I keep shoots relaxed and unhurried, so the people in front of the camera can just be themselves.
